The choir was formed in 1966 as the Cardiff Athletic Club Male Voice Choir, following a chance remark on the standard of after-match singing in the clubhouse. A group of dedicated supporters got together on a Monday evening to take the lead in improving the singing in the

clubhouse. It was not long before the number of choristers increased and the reputation of the choir started to grow, bringing requests for performances for local groups and charities. In 2000, the choir changed their name to become the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir.

The choir has been seen on BBC, Sky Sports, ITV, Channel 4, New Zealand and Australian TV, including a live performance on BBC1´s Grandstand. We have performed with personalities such as Charlotte Church, Hayley Westenra, Max Boyce, Peter Karrie, Ant & Dec and Goldie Lookin’ Chain. Since the choir´s formation, they have raised thousands of pounds for local and national charities, and entertained tens of thousands of people.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2006 with a series of events, including a four nations tour and a massed male choral spectacular in St David´s Hall, Cardiff.  This has become a regular event, with similar concerts being held in 2009, 2011 and 2013 under the title AngloWelsh Festival of Male Choirs. We celebrated our 50th Anniversary during 2016 and the highlight was a 10 day European Tour during which we sang at Cologne Cathedral and the Menin Gate.

The choir has travelled to Germany, with performances in Heilbronn, Satteldorf and Stuttgart, France (Strasbourg, Lorient, Chatte, Pleyben, Clermont Ferrand), Poland (Plzen, Krakow, Auschwitz), Scotland (Crieff, Perth, Edinburgh), Switzerland, Italy and Spain (Santander).
In October 2014 we performed at the London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs (formerly known as ‘1000 Voices’) at the Royal Albert Hall.

If you want to be a part of our future, then why not get in touch! We offer a warm welcome to all male singers, no matter what their age or experience, at our rehearsals on Monday and Thursday nights, 7.30pm – 9.30pm in Cardiff Rugby Club.

The choir is available to sing at concerts, weddings, dinners and other functions. Please contact us to check our availability.

For details of the CDs we have available, please visit our recordings page.
